Job vacancy: Community Manager (Remote, preferably in Asia)

The Environmental Reporting Collective (ERC) is a growing network of journalists across the globe collaborating to investigate environmental crimes.

We are committed to supporting and collaborating with journalists in underreported regions such as Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America to expose the impact of environmental degradation on communities.

Our past projects include the award-winning Pangolin Reports and Oceans Inc, both of which involved journalists and newsrooms from multiple continents working together.

In line with the ERC’s growth, we are opening a position for a Community Manager. It is a full-time, one-year contract position, with the possibility for renewal.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage communications with ERC partner newsrooms and the over 300 individual members of our global network.

  • Expand our ERC network of journalists, environmentalists, academicians, researchers, scientists, and gender specialists.

  • Manage communications with funders/donors and secure new partnerships.

  • Manage the ERC’s digital communications platforms, including Slack, social media accounts, newsletter, etc.

  • The manager will be given full access and accountability to ERC's social media posts and campaigns.

Requirements:

A communicative person; disciplined and transparent; must be eager to develop creative ideas to design our communications and campaigns; well-versed in social media; at least two years of experience as a community manager; concerned about the climate crisis; preferably based in Asia.

Applicants should prepare a cover letter, CV and a portfolio of work to be emailed to contact@investigative.earth. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
